Canterbury Pet Foods was established in 2001, in a fully, New Zealand Food Safety licensed facility custom designed for  the processing of animal products for the human food chain.  The facility was altered to cater for the new stringent regulations now pertaining to the pet food industry.

Canterbury Pet Foods Ltd was one of the first fully licensed pet food facilities operating under the risk management program. This program allows the management of Canterbury Pet Foods to be able to facilitate a fully integrated product tracing program, which allows us the comfort of being able to market a very safe and high quality product. The quality control system allows our staff to trace back to the source of supply. We have documented details such as the owner of that animal, the location, and the health of that animal prior to supply.

In the processing facility, the meats are retained under refrigeration, in a similar manner to the human consumables, and processed into the required cuts and packaging within the time frames set out to retain the best quality, flavour and presentation. Our facility is licensed to process the following animal species:

*   Wild Rabbit Meat

*   Wild Hare Meat

*   Goat Meat

*   Beef

*   Horse

*  Venison

*  Game Meat

*  Poultry

All of the above products are processed into the various cuts as the market demands and supplied either fresh or frozen in convenient 500gm resealable freezer proof containers or free flow.
